Black Friday

The biggest retail day of the year. Don’t forget to get the word out. You already have a list of subscribers that want to get your updates. What better timing than now to send out a text?

Here are some tips:

1. Most avid shoppers are ready to shop early, let them know your hours a day or two before.

2. Highlight your best deals.

3. If you are in the food industry, give them a reason to come relax and take a break with you. Be timely, if your going to highlight lunch, it might be best to send the message right around 11am, hit them right before they start making decisions on where to go eat.

4. Be considerate. If your store opens at 3am, don’t send out a text then, send it the evening before. You can also send an additional message as an update the day of. Let them know if you’re out of stock or have other deals that are still available.

5. Have an online store front? It would be a great idea to send out a promo code for online purchases. Not only can you boost sales and traffic, but you can track how many people make purchases on your site that received your text.

6. Don’t forget to promote your keyword! This is the best time to sign up as many of your customers as you can. Give them a good reason to sign up now for your text list!

Hope this helps a little in your text marketing efforts. Good luck this week and we hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Texting Success for Craigo’s Pizza – (Now Pizza Pie Cafe)

Craigo’s Pizza is texting like crazy! They have locations in Idaho and just opened up a Pizza Pie Cafe in Utah. Pizza Pie Cafe opened a week ago and already has over 1,100 cell phone numbers in their database. Kent has been running their texting campaigns through M6 Marketing and has seen a ton of success. Here are some quotes from him:

“The last broadcast we sent out, 13% was the rate of return that we were able to measure and that was with BYU-Idaho out of school. Half our subscribers are from BYU-Idaho, so I’m pretty confident that we would have had upwards of 16, 17, 18% response with that text message if school would have been in session.”

“We know we can probably get upwards of 40% response, we did one time when we did $3.99 all-you-can-eat buffet…the entire parking lot was full, the dentist office and businesses were starting to complain because we were filling up their parking lots, people walking over, a line out the door, it was just amazing!…Now are we making much money on that? No, but I tell you what, people still talk about that and that was 4 or 5 months ago when we did it.”

“It really depends on the business owner. Anybody who says ‘Oh, the text messaging program doesn’t work for me’, I just laugh at them, and say are you kidding me, that’s the best marketing tool we have! Zero labor and we can drive sales up any given day! We’ll just pack the restaurant up…if we know it’s going to be a slow day because there’s some fair or big event going on and we feel like we need to really boost up sales, we’ll send out a text and done! We’re covered…with confidence!”

Advertising can be defined as any message that is meant to influence or change one’s attitudes or behavior towards something, usually with the end goal in mind of a sale. Mobile advertising truly is the most effective way to reach any consumer in a timely manner.
