As an M6 employee I am, not surprisingly, a member of countless client databases. It not only keeps me informed of the goings-on of our clientele but also gives me the chance to take advantage of great offers! With such a large number of promotions coming my way I have noticed that some are, naturally, much better than others. In particular, some clients send the same message at the same time each week with little to no variation. Naturally the response to these promotions – typically “cut and paste” from the week before and broadcast at the same time and day – has lessened over time. Why? Because the members of these databases are bored! Like any group of consumers they respond when something is new, exciting or different! They want something to grab their attention. With that in mind, how can you as a businessperson with a growing database tap into your clients natural interests and ensure repeat customers?
